A trio of Icelandic investors is planning to spend 160 mn euro building 85,000 m2 of gross floor area on the north of Lübeck's Wall peninsula for living, working, leisure and shopping. Development construction properties (dcp) won a Europewide expression of interest (EOI) procedure in December 2007. The losing investors, architects and local institutions immediately launched a campaign against the architectural quality of the proposal and the awards procedure. The local authority nevertheless approved the sale of the 60,000 m2 plot opposite Lübeck's medieval centre. The investors have reacted calmly, and would like to "have everybody round one table."
